Other parts of the government that would be affected include Defense, Treasury, State, Health and Human Services, Labor, Housing and Urban Development, Transportation, and Education. During the last government shutdown, which lasted a record 43 days, ICE functions were listed as ‘essential’ and continued despite the shutdown.
